Visit the Great Indoors
Summer is winding down but the weather has not gotten the memo. The next couple weeks in the Shasta Cascade are supposed to be warmer than the ones we’ve seen over the course of this month. Don’t worry, it won’t be unbearably hot; just a few degrees over what the temp has been. Still, if you’re worried about it and would prefer to spend the majority of your day inside there are many options that will keep you nice and cool.
Visit the Bodies Revealed exhibit inside the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. This fascinating exhibit features real human bodies on display. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn what amazing machines our bodies are and the million different functions that all work in harmony to keep us moving. Bodies Revealed will only be on display through September so don’t miss your chance to see the human body in a whole new way.
If you’ll be in the Chico area, stop by the Bird in Hand store where the world’s largest public display of yo-yos is housed, including the world’s largest working yo-yo. You will be delighted and fascinated whether you’re young or just young at heart.
Try antiquing in downtown Red Bluff. The town has a rich Victorian heritage that you can purchase a part of in any one of the numerous antique shops. Tour the Kelly Griggs House Museum, a two story Victorian style home filled with displays of photographs, Indian architecture and much more.
There are endless options for keeping cool in the Shasta Cascade!
