Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

The Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor’s Center celebrates it’s Grand Opening October 4th. They’re hosting special programs and activities for opening day. The center is located on the south-west enterance to the park on HWY 89.  Kohm Yah-mah-nee means Snowy Mountian in the language of the Mountian Maidu, one of the indigenous people groups who originally populated the Lassen region. This is the first time Lassen has had a year-round visitor’s center available to the public.
