SHASTA

TRINITY
- Get out of the weather and enjoy the art at Trinity County Arts Council, Highland Art Center & Main Street Gallery.
- Pack a lunch, check the weather, and bring a pair of snowshoes to enjoy the winter landscape near Trinity Center.
- Come see the Natural Bridge of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest located near Hayfork, which is a unique and naturally formed limestone bridge.
SISKIYOU
- McCloud presents an “Old Fashion Christmas” December 1st. It is a true country celebration with Santa Claus, decorations, goodies and song.
- Head on up to Yreka, Dec 2nd for a “Nights of Lights”. Enjoy Siskiyou Sled Dog Association demos including mushing & racing with dogs and equipment.
- You might find yourself lost in the beauty of the Mossbrae falls near Dunsmuir, but make sure you pack some warm clothes and maybe even a pair of snowshoes for this trip.
LASSEN
- Explore the Bizz Johnson Trail. This 29-mile trail gracefully works its way from Susanville to Westwood through pristine forests. The perfect walk to end with a hot cup of chocolate!
- Go visit the 22 foot tall statue of legendary Paul Bunyan in small town, Westwood!
- Take your tubes and sleds up to Eskimo Hill for a day of exhilarating outdoor snow recreation.
MODOC
- The Tulelake Museum, unlike many, is open all year. See histories of Tulelake, Butte Valley, Malin and Merrill.
- It’s a Winterfest in Alturas. Come join the holiday celebration with friends and family on December 3rd. For more information call (530)-233-4434.
- Visit the Devil’s Garden area, which lies along the Pacific Flyway, making it an excellent area for bird watching!
PLUMAS
- The Indian Valley Museum houses many artifacts, representing the period from the 1860′s through the 1940′s with over 600 pictures on display showing life as it was in Indian Valley.
- Attend the Portola Tree Lighting, December 2nd at 6pm and get a picture with Santa! Fun for the whole family.
- The Chester-Lake Almanor Museum is open week days for your enjoyment. There are a variety of displays including Maidu Indian artifacts.
BUTTE
- Visit and learn the history of Paradise, where the largest gold nugget in California was found back in 1859!
